Your board of directors has authorized the two new summer shirts pictured here to be added to our wardrobe. One of them (hereby dubbed the "Skyline" shirt) is optional; the other (the "Logo Pattern" shirt) will be a uniform element, and will make its debut as we march in the opening ceremonies at Salt Lake City.
Both are designed as Hawaiian shirts, and are to be worn outside at the waist for increased comfort, and a more casual appearance. They will be made of a poly/cotton blend which will make them both wrinkle resistant, and warm -weather comfortable. Both shirts will be available in women's , children's and men's sizes.
The Logo Pattern shirt is made from a custom fabric now being made for us; the Skyline shirt will be embroidered on a stock blank shirt.
The price of the Logo Pattern shirt is $30, but the chapter is subsidizing 1/3 of this amount for shirts to be worn by chapter members, making the net price for members $20. The price of the Skyline shirt is estimated at $35.
For the initial order of Logo Pattern shirts, we need every man planning to go to Salt Lake City to place his order now with Jon Ayers , including of course, your size requirements. Additional shirts can also be ordered, of course. Payment will be made upon delivery, which we expect will be just before we leave for SLC.
The initial order of the Skyline shirt will depend upon the level of interest shown. We need a minimum commitment to cover the one-time setup cost of the embroidery. You can order them now, and when the minimum threshold is reached, we'll ask for payment and the deal will be firm.
Both shirts, of course, will continue to be available, both to members and to friends of BAC.
The logo pattern shirt does not replace the black shirt; it's an additional item better suited for warm weather.
These shirts are the result of a great team effort led by Frank Hendricks and including Mike Steiner, Steve Adams, Ray Yeh, and Stuart Radish. .
