WELCOME BACK
Great to see the risers filled with men who've been away for various reasons: Marty Israel, Bob Murphy, Hank Zielin, Ray Ludwicki.
POLECATS
Maurice DeBar established his credentials as polecat tsar early in the game last night by identifying a 'lost chord' in Sweet & Lovely. In the world of barbershop, polecats are not weasely rodents but good music, and especially rewarding when done accurately. Good to see a crowd gathered after rehearsal to enjoy Honey/Little Lize. Thanks, Mo.
NORTHERN DIVISION CONTEST
1. The BAC will lead off the jamboree Saturday evening. We've been assigned Room GS-C at the Hyatt New Brunswick Hotel. Please be there for a one-hour rehearsal at 5:30PM.
2. We'll sing the same Elvis package that we did at Alice Tully - Love Me, Love me Tender, and the Elvis medley. Black shoes, white socks, black jeans & belt, prison shirt with white tear-away, and black leather jacket.
3. Grab a bite and be back, dressed, at 7:15. The jamboree is scheduled to start at 7:30
4. When not on stage, wear your BAC informal - black shirt, khaki pants - show the flag!
SAD NEWS
The BAC lost a member, the society lost a great man, and I lost a friend with the passing of Ed Waesche. There will be no service, which was his wish. Our hearts go out to Kate and his family; we'll each find our own way to remember him, and his music will remain with us forever.
